Things are looking up (FINALLY!) so I wanted to post this little motivational quote I came across last night. This week has definitely been more successful than last week and I think it's a result of being more conscious of what I'm doing. Being busy also helps since I dont pull as often when I'm busy and not working from home on the computer.
Now it gets tricky. Once again, as the hairs start to grow the urge to pull those stubby little hairs gets worse so I have to come up with a way to stay strong and not pull. I'm guessing I need to make it about 2 more weeks until they are past that 'short and prickly" phase. So that's my goal although really my goal continues just to be another 24 hours. At this point 2 weeks is just too long and lofty a goal so my 24 goal keeps things more manageable and hopefully more realistic. Fingers crossed!

Awesome, Kimberly! Keep it up! I love the quote- thanks for sharing it! I am on my vacation now, and I threw away ALL of my makeup before I came- that's right, I didn't pack a single thing to cover up ANYTHING! My eyebrows are not perfect, but they are not too bad! I have loved the freedom of not trying to hide anything- it is wonderful- I am swimming and loving it! I hope you keep going- I have a feeling we are both going to beat this disease! At church the other day, the speaker said something along the lines that we are asked to be "perfect" in the scriptures (I am not a scriptorian, but it was something along those lines), and he said that the word "perfect" meant to be "complete or whole". My body is complete when it has all of the hair on it that Heavenly Father blessed it with so I have been trying to be complete... or perfect! This same speaker also said (and again, I am not a preacher so I won't say this perfectly- don't quote me on it) that Jesus suffered for each one of us,and through his atonement, we can ALL be healed. Whatever our addiction may be, we can overcome it- you know exactly what addiction/disease I want to overcome, and he said that we do not believe in the power of the atonement if we are not able to overcome our addiction. Well, I had to really think about that one! Jesus really does know your pain and my pain with trich! I know He does! We can turn to Him and beat this! I want you to know that I love you as a sister- I have never met you before, but I share something very personal and depressing with you! I am so grateful that you have this blog to help others see that they are not alone! You have helped me so much with my trich- I hope and pray that both of us can overcome this disease. I don't know if you are christian, but if you are (and even if you are not) turn to our Savior. Our father in heaven is still a God of miracles! He loves both of us very much- as I told you the first time I wrote to you, we are his daughters! Both He and our brother, Jesus Christ can help us! Your blog has been a blog about your past battle with hair...now, like the arrow that has been pulled backward all of our lives, let's launch forward! Your blog will soon be an inspiration to those with trich that it is a disease that can be overcome! I have faith in us! We are not alone in this battle- we have our God on our side- He wants to help us- we just need to ask Him for His help. I pray every day for you! May we both stay focused on what we want to become...happy people, free from the control and all of the effects of trich. We WILL fly forward like the arrow! Here's to a great day today and future! -Heidi
